Dr. Paulo Freitas Costa, Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus specialist at CUF Porto\u2019s Iberoftal and CUF S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o da Madeira, was invited for Porto Canal\u2019s TV show \u201cConsult\u00f3rio\u201d on 27\/12\/2017.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_video link=”https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Sj7dnwaPOGQ” align=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][vc_column_text]Significant ametropia (or refraction errors such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism) must be detected at an early life stage of a child to minimise its effect on learning and visual development. It generally includes the use of eyeglasses. It is natural for our children to adapt to given conditions and so they do not complain nor show direct signs of low visual acuity; these situations may exist without parents noticing it\u2026 It is thus fundamental to perform prompt visual screening.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”50px”]
